Central to our mission is responding to the needs of others in our communities and the world. Through participating in service projects, our students learn the importance of helping our neighbors. By fostering responsible citizenship, our schools teach students how to become compassionate leaders.
KCS understands that the future of our country and our community depends on smart caring people who are able to work successfully with others to achieve results no one person could achieve alone. We understand that children learn not just what they’re taught, but what they see modeled in their lives every day. We understand that a full and happy life is not about getting and having but about being and becoming.
Community Service is a critical component of the educational experience at KCS. In every classroom, at every age level, and throughout the building and the community, students are encouraged to develop the habit of service through volunteerism. Class projects, after school activities, and independent work of students in their own neighborhoods all improve the community at large as they help the students grow into roles as active and informed citizens.
